Kelly’s productions credits began in 2004 after teaming up with
fellow DJ Danny Keith and renowned vocalist Martay. Under the Soul 8 alias, the
trio made and produced soulful, disco-infused house with tracks such as the
truly super ‘Supabad’ and the vocal powerhouse
creation ‘Cloud Nine’. Creating a
buzz amongst DJing peers such as Alistair Whitehead, the tracks confirmed the
fact that Miss Kelly Marie not only plays great records, she makes them.
Next on the production agenda, Miss Kelly Marie
worked with UK Producer KosmetiQ alongside vocalist Martay in 2007 to create ‘Bring Out the Freak’; a futuristic
electro floor-smasher that was completely contrary to the sound of Soul 8.
Realising the magic created in the studio by the dynamic duo, Kelly and
KosmetiQ went on to make ‘Hanging On
(feat Aina)’ and ‘Kiti Kat (feat
Martay & Ricky)’.
With a sound and style under her belt, Kelly’s
tracks were soon played round the world by Hed Kandi DJs, key tastemakers and
music-loving mixmasters. Miss Kelly Marie had firmly positioned herself as a
creator of music and swiftly teamed up with prominent DJ Wez Clarke to produce
the brilliant ‘Feel It on the Floor
(feat Martay)’. To add to her production highlights, the track was remixed by
Kelly Marie and Antony Westgate before the pair teamed up to write and produce
the ‘High on Heels Anthem (feat
Martay)’; a killer of a production that opens the High on Heels show - Kelly’s
unique, live all female collective act.
Working with Butchered Beats, Kelly also created a
track called ‘First Time’ featuring
Kelli Leigh on vocals and performed it live, adding an electric Violin, for various
tours with High on Heels.
2011 has seen Kelly work alongside Gadjo vocalist Alexandra Prince
to create ‘Disco’, a track that was
remixed by Markus BIGWORLD Binapfl and signed to Eric Morillo’s new label Subusa.
In the same period, Kelly went on to work with pop producer Will Simms to
create ‘Love Myself’, a track Kelly
would later go on to independently mix.
September 2011 sees the release of
High On Heels featuring Miss Kelly Marie and Martay - Supabad. A killer club anthem produced by Miss Kelly Marie, Martay, Danny Keith and Jay Kay.
The track is out now on iTunes.
